The 2022 Ford Explorer ST-Line impresses right off the bat with the turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost® engine. This 4-cylinder engine delivers 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. It’s also mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, meaning you’ll have some pretty smooth shifting.
Wondering how far you can travel with the fuel economy? Well, the ST-Line achieves an EPA-estimated 20 city/28 highway MPG rating with this engine. With the 17.9-gallon fuel tank, you’ll easily be able to go on tons of adventures.
In fact, with around 500 miles worth of fuel when you’re traveling by highway, you could drive to Washington D.C. and back with one full tank. Plus, you can choose to keep or get rid of the automatic start/stop.
Interior
The first thing you’ll notice in this new trim is the stylish interior. The ActiveX™-trimmed seats with Miko® inserts include red accent stitching throughout. Plus, the first row has standard heated seats.
You’ll also enjoy tri-zone electronic automatic temperature control, which will make it easy for everyone to get comfortable. The rear auxiliary climate control even allows second-row passengers to use the knobs to pick their own temperature.
When it comes to seating, the Ford Explorer ST-Line has a capacity for up to seven passengers. You’ll also have these dimensions:

- Legroom (first/second/third row): 43 / 39 / 32.2 inches
- Shoulder room (first/second/third row): 61.8 / 61.9 / 54.6 inches
These dimensions will allow all passengers to relax for the ride, whether you’re taking the kids and their friends to soccer practice or heading out on a road trip with friends. Plus, you’ll have 18.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, 47.9 cubic feet behind the second row, and a maximum 87.8 cubic feet when both rows are folded.

The 2022 Ford Explorer ST-Line also stands out with the impressive technology inside the cabin. The available 10.1-inch LCD portrait touchscreen makes it easy to see your directions, music, and more.
