One of our favorite things about the Ford Explorer and Chevy Traverse is that they offer plenty of power. In fact, both vehicles come equipped with an available V6 engine. Based on their engine specs, however, you may get a bit more energy from the V6 engine available in the Explorer:

Depending on whether you choose the enhanced turbocharged V6 engine for your Ford Explorer, it’ll produce 70-150 more horsepower than the V6 engine in the Traverse. Due to the additional power output, the Explorer is also able to tow 600 more pounds than the Traverse can.

If you’re going to be towing a boat to the beach in the summertime, you may prefer the strength of the Ford SUV.

All-Weather Traction Control: Explorer vs Traverse
